A very good cause I don't doubt, but Cowell and cohorts pretty much guarenteeing the boys first UK #1 single let alone hit in years is horrific to me.
City Winery's series of Haiti benefit concerts kicked off last night (1/20) with an all-star lineup that included Patti Smith, The Swell Season (they headlined Radio City Music Hall one night earlier), The Antlers, John Wesley Harding, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Yo La Tengo, Young People's Chorus of New York City, Tiempo Libre and Joshua Bell. Everyone played short sets, especially the unannounced guest Michael Stipe who actually only read something and introduced his friend Patti Smith.

These pictures are source material, part of a sculpture project of mine that will unfold over the next year. I was obsessively staring at corners when in Paris this past October. That's when it really started. Q: What makes a cute corner? A: A cute corner is one that has its lighting down. A cute corner has all good sides and only great angles. Straight but not narrow. Solid company.
Michael's previous sculpture work includes bronze castings of cameras as well as a very large bison.
