Lots of Neil Young vinyl this month.
Tix to see Del Amitri in November! My first time. I’m excited. It sold out super fast and they’re only playing one gig in London.
My favourite local record store is having their anniversary sale so I got a bunch of vinyl.
Green River - Dry as a Bone
Lou Reed - Rock n Roll Animal
Sleater-Kinney - The Center Won’t Hold
Stephen Stills - Manassas
The Who - Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy
Neil Young - Harvest Moon
Several year delay in release, so this isn’t a “recent” purchase, but a recent delivery from a not so recent preorder. Finally a new Carbon Leaf album.
I haven’t bought it yet because I can’t find it on CD, but the new album by MJ Lenderman is excellent. I’ll definitely be adding it to my collection.
David Bowie - Low
Elvis Costello & the Attractions - Get Happy!
Bob Dylan - Desire
Elton John - Greatest Hits
Mike McGear - McGear
You must have one of the biggest record collections in the world.
I’ve been collecting vinyl for 25 years and the current total is just over 700. I know people with thousands of records.
I have around 700 Cds, much less vinyl probably just over 100. I bought physical music mostly in the '80’s to early 2000’s. I was working full time and had the money to do so.
I ordered a set of FiloGT1 headphones tonight. A relative has a pair, I tested them out, for the price they sound really good. While I was ordering I had browse at turntables, the one I have is on the way out. I couldn’t believe the price of some of this eqiupment.
Birthday Records
Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin Live at Red Rocks
Replacements - Unsuitable for Airplay
Neil Young - Time Fades Away 50
I bought myself a new acoustic guitar! I’ve been learning to play for over a year on a cheap classical and thought I deserved something better. Saved my money and got this beautiful Fender all mahogany dreadnought.
That’s cool! You might find that it hurts your fingers to begin with cos it’ll be steel strings rather than nylon, but that’ll ease the more you play. Happy playing!
This website (which I’m super happy to find still exists) was really useful to me when I was learning to play back in the day:
