So, how’s it going

My life has been one long struggle, but I’m trying to fix that. It hasn’t been easy.

Get Up

Weather is warming up which means seasonal allergies are starting to kick in. Good times good times. Low motivation today. At least I have my Neil Young records to listen to.

I’ve been craving the tea I used to drink with my (German) host family in the mid-80s, but I’ve never been able to replicate it. Through some help on Twitter, I found it. It arrived yesterday.

Today I had this:

And it was lovely.

I’ve never seen a hollyhock this high. It has lean on me yuccas to help it grow and reach the sun.

I had an operation Monday last, and eleven days later still in quite bad pain I am back in hospital waiting for a bed. They are redoing the operation in the morning…

Had better weeks, and certainly better Friday nights, but as the post above says, “above the clouds, the sun always shines”.

I went axe throwing today. This isn’t the first time and it definitely won’t be the last.

Love that, whose face were you picturing on that wall?

They operated on me again yesterday so hopefully home tomorrow for a further week or so of bed rest. Actually lying here listening to my vinyl rip of NAIHF, which is nice.

I’ve never tried that, but I can see the attraction.

Axe throwing is the best. It’s a workout, for sure. Honestly, I don’t picture anyone’s face—although it is somewhat therapeutic (so is boxing).

It’s really fun. There’s an actual scoring system—like darts—but when we go we just throw the axe.

March went by faster than I thought it would. But I did finally get to see Sparks live in concert. It’s been since 2019 since I’ve been to an indoor show. Wild. We’re maybe taking a trip to NYC in late April. Originally we were going for a conference but now we’ve got to figure out what we’d like to do while we’re there.

When I’m walking out, I can’t help notice them. Does anyone else like to stop and look at stickers?

Simply put: It’s been kind of a shitty week.

That is all.

I used to take the ridiculous metro train where I live and stop at a station that had a pole in front, where I would wait for my ride. It was the only point in town where I noticed people communicated through these kinds of stickers. Some looked really like some form of underground communication, some tribal stuff, idk. I used to find it really interesting. I’m kind of a fan of the whole punk ethos.

I don’t know if it’s just the contrast with being on break, but the past week SUCKED for me as well. Maybe that’ll ease up as we go?
