Michael Shannon/Jason Narducy Fables Tour

Saw this in Seattle last night. I was skeptical, but it had been so well reviewed and the guys themselves seem to like it, so…

It was fantastic. They played great, Shannon sang mostly well, and (as with the Murmur tour) played a second set of other REM stuff. All 80s apart from New Test Leper. Was a great reminder of what a great body of work they had in the first few albums.

It being Seattle, Peter dropped in for the last 1/4 or so, playing about half of Reckoning and a couple of others which was a treat. Worth seeing if it’s in your area.

As posted on Facebook R.E.M. Fans United (Thank you Jason Billips!) The whole band came together to join Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy and friends at the 40 Watt in Athens. I believe this was yesterday. Talk about renunions, even only if it’s a once off now & then. Michael Shannon - “Guys this is a special place where dreams come true” What a party it must have been.

I’m not 100% sure, I believe the guys from R.E.M. did Pretty Persuasion on night one & two.

Thanks for the link, Lori (and to Jason Billips for posting it). That is just… amazing. I can’t even think of words. I can’t imagine how overwhelmed I would have been to be there if I’m this flabbergasted just by watching the video!

Link posted in another thread in case you haven’t seen it. Apparently Bill Berry drummed on Wendell Gee.
