New Patterson Hood Solo Album Due in February 2025

Y’all,

I am thrilled to announce my new solo album

Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams

It is my first solo album in nearly 13 years and has been a labor of love to make.

My dear friend Chris Funk (Decemberists, Portugal the Man, etc.) produced it.

It is a collection of songs, often based around my childhood and coming of age, mostly written over the past decade.

It features guest appearances from some very dear friends including Waxahatchee (Katie Crutchfield), Kevin Morby, Wednesday (Karly Hartzman, MJ Lenderman & Xandy Chelmis), Steve Berlin, Stuart Bogie, Kyleen King, Dan Hunt, Nate Query, Brad & Phil Cook, Steve Drizos, Jay Gonzalez, Brad Morgan, and David Barbe.

In March / April, I will be touring with The Sensurrounders, a killer band I’m putting together just for this occasion.

Lydia Loveless will be opening and also playing with us.

We will be playing the entire album each night, plus a selection of songs from my other solo albums and a few DBT songs that fit into the continuum.

The cover art is by a Frances Thrasher. She is a young artist from Athens GA that is doing amazing work.

My favourite song on the Peter Buck solo albums is Southerner, sung (sort of) by Patterson Hood, so I’ll probably check this out. Like the single.
