The Gaslight Anthem has announced they are “reforming”/“back to being an active band.” Their trio of The '59 Sound, American Slang, and Handwritten are a fantastic 3-album run. Personally I’m excited as they’re also coming to Germany in August and are playing Bremen, which is a welcome surprise.

I don’t know if I’d call them a cult band, but it seems that people that like them, REALLY LIKE THEM.

I recently realised that they borrow a line from Nightswimming in “Blue Dhalia”. Brian Fallon comes from that generation of artists who admire and resspect R.E.M.

I love that Fallon wears his heart on his sleeve unabashedly. He certainly carries a love for REM, as well as Springsteen, etc, which you can see in just how he carries a crowd and leads the band.

He’s also a really nice guy from the one time I met him.
